Dental Assistant (Full Time, 40, Day)

Responsibilities : Job Summary / Responsibilities : Performs a variety of clinical and clerical duties to assist the dentist. Typical Physical Demands : Essential : standing, sitting, walking, stoop / bending, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting and carrying usual weight up to 5 pounds, pushing / pulling usual weight of 25 pounds, carrying usual weight of 2 pounds, reaching above, at, and below shoulder level, repetitive arm / hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object. Occasional : lifting weight up to 20 pounds, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, pushing / pulling weight up to 50 pounds. Operates dental equipment, medical equipment and office equipment. Typical Working Conditions : Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Exposed to noise / vibration from dental equipment, x-rays, cleaning agents, chemicals, communicable diseases, body fluids and sharps. Works in a static position for prolonged periods with repetitive hand / arm motion. Minimum Qualifications : Education / Certification and Licensure : Completion of approved Dental Assistant training program or equivalent work experience. Current certification in BLS / HCP. CDA certification preferred. Experience : Experience to demonstrate knowledge and familiarity with computers and automated systems. Prior work experience as Dental Assistant preferred.
