About the Role
The Field Supervisor is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing daily and weekly activities on the farm, in collaboration with the Farm Manager. This includes managing employees' workloads, coordinating harvesting activities, conducting training sessions, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate weekly activities with Manager.
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities according to plan with Assistant Growers, Operators and other employees as assigned.
- Coordinate all daily activities with Manager and Harvesting Supervisor.
- Organize, report, and manage employees’ workload.
- Responsible for conducting training sessions and promoting teamwork.
- Accurately assess employees’ performance weekly.
- Coordinate and execute chemical spray and fertility programs.
- Responsible for monitoring and securing all processes in planting, weed control, pest control, fertilizations, irrigation, and other miscellaneous activities.
- Must be able to analyze data and make recommendations.
- Responsible for maintaining work areas clean.
- Responsible for keeping all data for B&W systems and paperwork updated daily.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with all government and customer requirements, including GMP procedures, internal / external audits, food safety and workplace safety requirements.
- Expected to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in a safe manner and according to the standard set by B&W.
Qualifications
Associated degree in agriculture or related area or 5+ years of experience in agriculture.Required Skills
Bilingual in English and SpanishStrong leadership and team-management abilitiesExperience coordinating daily and weekly field activitiesKnowledge of planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest / weed control, and general crop productionAbility to analyze field data and make operational recommendationsProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookStrong communication skills (written and verbal)Able to complete daily reports, emails, and administrative paperworkKnowledge of GMP, food safety, and workplace safety requirementsAbility to maintain organized, clean, and compliant work areasValid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving recordEqual Opportunity Statement
