About The Position

Job Title : OR RN

Profession : RN (Registered Nurse)

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8H Days M-F

Hours per Shift : 9 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM

Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience in the specialty required, including 2-3 previous travel assignments.

License : Valid RN license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS required

Must-Have : Ortho / Neuro experience preferred

Description :

The position involves working in a busy operating room environment.

Average daily cases include approximately 28, with 5 add-ons.

The ratio of RNs to patients in the OR is 1 : 1.

Staff may be required to take on-call shifts during the week and weekends.

On-call response time is expected to be within 20 minutes.

Scrubs will be provided for RNs.

Anesthesia interprets vent settings, while tele-RNs are not required to interpret strips in the OR.

The schedule may vary, with shifts primarily during the day and evening.

No self-scheduling is permitted for travelers, but block scheduling may be considered based on unit needs.

Common types of surgical cases include neuro spine, total joints, open fractures, general, and ENT, but do not include Open Heart.

RNs may be required to scrub for cases, which is a plus but not mandatory.

There is a need for RNs to assist in room turnover, as techs are responsible for this task.

Cancellation policy allows for a certain number of shift cancellations per assignment duration.

The charting system used is Epic.
