Embedded Engineer I

Description

As an Embedded Engineer I at Honeywell Aerospace you will be part of our Lighting Center of Excellence (COE) within the Control Systems group contributing to the development of embedded systems for innovative aerospace lighting solutions. You will work closely with senior engineers to design implement and test embedded software while supporting integration with advanced hardware components.

You will report directly to our Sr. Design Engineering Manager and work out of our Urbana OH location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role you will impact the development of cutting-edge aerospace technologies that enhance the safety efficiency and performance of aircraft systems worldwide.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the design and development of embedded software using C with a focus on bare metal systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as Embedded Linux TIRTOS and FreeRTOS.
• Support implementation of control algorithms for BLDC motor systems and development of Ethernet communication protocols.
• Participate in code reviews software requirement analysis and reverse engineering of existing embedded C code under senior engineer guidance.
• Assist in testing and system integration working onsite in Urbana OH to support hardware / software bring-up.
• Contribute to camera and network interface solutions including integration of wireless BLE and IoT embedded systems.
• Help maintain documentation compliant with DO-178C standards and collaborate with Honeywell Product Development & Quality Assurance (PDQA) to ensure compliance.
