Job Description
· Leads and coordinates the development of strategic written content in support of NSF OLPA communications.
· Serves as a senior content advisor, aligning written products with NSF mission objectives and communication priorities.
· Writes and edits high-visibility content including articles, white papers, reports, press materials, web content, and leadership communications.
· Develops and implements content strategies and messaging plans tailored to diverse stakeholder audiences.
· Manages writing assignments, priorities, and review cycles across multiple content types and platforms.
· Collaborates closely with OLPA leadership, subject-matter experts, editors, designers, and digital staff.
· Ensures consistency of voice, tone, and messaging across all written products.
· Ensures compliance with AP Style, NSF style guidelines, Plain Writing Act requirements, and Section 508 accessibility standards.
· Supports surge requirements and rapid-turnaround communications efforts.
Education Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Public Policy, or a related field; or
· Equivalent professional experience.
Experience Requirements
· Minimum 8 years of professional writing and editing experience.
· Demonstrated experience developing content strategies for science-focused, research, or policy organizations.
· Experience producing and managing content across digital, print, and executive-level communications.
· Strong experience coordinating with senior stakeholders and managing complex review processes.
· Experience supporting federal communications environments preferred.
