Neurology Weekend Option Polysomnographic Technologist

Selected applicants who have not held a similar role at the University of Iowa within the last 12 months may be eligible for a sign-on incentive of up to $5000.

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Neurology is seeking a weekend option Polysomnographic Technologist to work overnight weekend shifts in the facility-based sleep lab. This position will perform overnight sleep studies including both applying electrodes and sensors to patients in preparation for each study as well as monitoring and assisting patients throughout the night.

Job Duties to Include :

• Providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep and arousal disorders including diagnostic testing and therapeutic interventions
• Using critical thinking independent judgment and advanced knowledge of sleep technology sleep / wake disorders and associated co-morbid conditions.
• Coordinating and communicating with an interdisciplinary team.
• Participating in teaching evaluating and advising students.

Pay Grade : 32 -

Percent of Time : 60%

Schedule : Two (2) 12-hour shifts per week 19 : 00 - 07 : 00 (7pm-7am)
