Company Description
Walkenhorst's is a leading provider of merchandise to the correctional market. We are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Professional to join our sales team in Sparks, Nevada. This individual will play a key role in expanding our customer base and maintaining strong relationships within the correctional industry.
Job Description
Summary of responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Develop and retain sales by identifying and pursuing opportunities with correctional facilities and state correctional agencies.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with correctional facilities, state agencies, and industry partners.
- Write and respond to RFPs (Requests for Proposals), bids, and prospective contracts, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Manage ongoing programs with existing clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
- Track the status of upcoming and existing contracts, identifying opportunities for renewal or expansion.
- Represent Walkenhorst's at correctional industry conventions and networking events to promote business growth.
- Work closely with the existing business development team to align on strategies and sales goals.
- All other duties based on business needs
Qualifications include
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.Proven ability to drive sales productivity and maintain customer satisfaction.Self-starter with a high level of initiative and ability to work independently.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with CRM softwareExcellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for proposals, bids, and client meetings.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Desired Experience
Sales and marketing experience within a business-to-business (B2B) environment.Experience with contract writing and responding to RFPs.Correctional sales or correctional buying / purchasing experience (preferred)Travel
Occasional travel (less than two weeks per year) for industry conventions and client meetings.Job Type : Full-time, Salary Position
Hours are Monday-Friday,Typical workweek is 40 hours
