Warehouse Maintenance Technician – New Warehouse Startup
Location : Whiteland, IN
Shift : 1st Shift
Pay : $27–$32 / hour DOE
Position Summary :
We are seeking a hands-on Warehouse Maintenance Technician to join our new warehouse startup in Whiteland, Indiana. This role will be critical in maintaining and repairing plant equipment, forklifts, and providing general facility maintenance in a safe and efficient manner. You will help establish processes, ensure smooth operation of production equipment, manage work orders, and track parts inventory while maintaining compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Equipment Troubleshooting, Repair, & Preventive Maintenance
Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and machinery to minimize downtime and optimize production.
Assist in equipment installation and startup at the new facility.
Perform preventative maintenance and necessary repairs on onsite LP forklifts using the Upkeep system.
Complete all maintenance documentation and accurately track materials / parts used.
Facility Maintenance & Parts Inventory
Maintain facility operations to meet daily production goals.
Follow and enforce high standards of tidiness and organization in line with 5S practices (Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
Maintain sanitation and housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
Manage parts inventory and purchase necessary parts within budget.
Safety & Cross-Functional Teamwork
Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company procedures.
Work with leadership to implement LEAN initiatives and equipment improvements.
Assist maintenance team and plant management with daily activities and special projects.
Communicate effectively across shifts, supervisors, and vendors.
Operate forklifts safely (training and certification provided).
Qualifications :
Hands-on position; must lift up to 70 lbs consistently and perform repetitive motions, bending, twisting, and lifting.
3+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, production-based warehouse or manufacturing environment, including key holder responsibility.
Mechanical experience with forklifts, trucks / trailers, conveyors, automated material handling equipment, dock doors, and general building maintenance.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance program execution.
Welding and general metal fabrication skills required.
Forklift certification and proficiency.
Familiarity with industrial safety practices (OSHA, etc.).
Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Self-motivated, independent, and a quick learner.
Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and 5S preferred.
Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and web-based programs preferred.
Must be able to travel up to 10% as needed.
High School Diploma, GED, or comparable work experience preferred.
