We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to contribute to our financial operations by ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payment processing and vendor management. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and experience with tools such as NetSuite and Concur.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee the entire accounts payable process, including receiving, coding, and entering vendor invoices into the NetSuite system.
• Prepare payments for approval, such as checks and wire transfers, ensuring timely processing based on invoice due dates.
• Match supplier invoices to purchase orders while maintaining precise financial records for all transactions.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, responding to inquiries and resolving payment discrepancies with a customer-focused approach.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and record journal entries as part of the monthly financial close process.
• Support the annual financial statement audit and assist with semi-annual physical inventory counts.
• Evaluate current workflows and recommend improvements to accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with other departments.
• Coordinate with colleagues to ensure accurate financial records and reporting.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the finance department.
