Position Summary : As a Senior Civil Transportation Engineer, you will lead and oversee key transportation for a variety of clients including Caltrans as well as city and county projects, bringing your seasoned expertise to the planning design and delivery of the project. Your role will involve managing teams, collaborating closely with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring strict adherence to standards. Beyond your technical contributions, you will play a pivotal role in budgeting, quality control, and introducing innovative solutions to enhance and optimize transportation networks.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

• Assists with the planning and scheduling of engineering tasks within a specific discipline and across disciplines.
• Initiates and maintains relationships with engineers and with key engineering officials from external partners. Acts as the technical point of contact for project managers.
• Retains an advanced level of knowledge of the disciplines material costs, cost analysis and estimating.
• Provides technical engineering leadership for a discipline, making decisions and recommendations, while offering guidance to engineering staff and supporting various engineering teams.
• Participates in the development of proposals, including scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Acts as lead Engineer in charge of maintaining and approving engineering deliverables.
• Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, reports, plans, specifications, and estimates for applicable projects.
• Collaborates with project team including sub-consultants and clients.
• Acts independently on technical matters with minimal supervision.
• Conducts quality control review of design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documents.
• Uses computer software to design engineering projects, solve technical problems, organize data, and prepare technical documents.
