Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical in Show Low, AZ

Job Title : Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Med Surg Duration : Full-time Shift : Nights Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum of 1 year required License : RN Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; PALS preferred Must-Have : Strong neuro and cardiac skills Description : This position involves working in a 24-bed MedSurg unit with telemetry capabilities for adult and pediatric patients. Traveling staff will not take pediatric cases unless they hold PALS certification, which are assigned to permanent staff. A strong background in neuro and cardiac nursing is essential. Nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 5 during the day and 1 : 6 at night, with a higher ratio for pediatric patients depending on acuity. Support staff includes telemetry technicians, charge nurses, healthcare unit coordinators, and patient care technicians. Nurse managers do not provide patient care but conduct rounds. Nurses may be required to float to all medical-surgical units and take on medical-surgical overflow patients in the ICU. Hospitalist services are available on-site 24 / 7. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are also available 24 / 7. Scrub colors are any hue except all black.
