QUALIFICATIONS
Position: Goalkeeper Coach
Department: Team Operations
Reports to: Director of Soccer Operations
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Goalkeeper Coach is responsible for supporting the Huntsville City FC Head Coach in the technical, tactical, and individual development of goalkeepers within the club’s pathway. This role plays a key part in creating a high-performance environment for goalkeepers, contributing to overall team success, and supporting broader coaching staff needs through training design, match preparation, and performance analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the identification, recruitment, and scouting of goalkeeper prospects to strengthen Nashville SC’s goalkeeping pipeline.
- Design and deliver specialized goalkeeper training programs aligned with the club’s playing philosophy and developmental framework.
- Plan and execute goalkeeper-specific exercises and integrate those sessions into overall team training.
- Support daily training operations, including field setup and breakdown.
- Analyze training and match footage; prepare and present video clips to individual players, the team, and staff.
- Contribute to opposition scouting and preparation through video and data analysis.
- Develop individualized development plans for goalkeepers, including youth and academy prospects.
- Maintain consistent collaboration and communication with technical staff and Club departments.
- Manage the goalkeeper training drill library and session plans.
- Foster productive relationships with internal departments to support player development and team operations.
- Organize goalkeeper-focused recruitment events and camps to attract and evaluate top talent.
GAME DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Head Coach with roster and lineup preparation.
- Provide tactical insights and strategic analysis of opponents on match day.
- Assist with team tactics, substitutions, and in-game player instruction.
- Review match footage and contribute to post-match performance analysis with the coaching staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum USSF C License or equivalent coaching certification required.
- At least 5 years of experience working with youth and/or professional goalkeepers.
- Strong understanding of goalkeeper development, training methodologies, and performance analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a professional coaching environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills with a commitment to player development.
