Crime Prevention Specialist
The Crime Prevention Specialist provides internal and external direction and advice on protection of organizational assets and human resources by consulting to internal partners on operational needs. Primary liaison with law enforcement. Manages relationships with senior business leaders and acts as ambassadors who build awareness of GSI's Physical Security programs and engages with partners to leverage these services.
The Crime Prevention Specialist :
- Expert level professional role requiring in-depth knowledge / expertise in own domain / field of specialty and working knowledge of broader related areas

- Applies best practices to implement process, product or service improvements

- Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders
- Uses advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommend standards against which others will operate
- Impacts a range of functional programs and operations across own and related teams
- Interprets guidelines, standards, policies and results of analysis to inform decision making at senior levels
- Builds stakeholder alignment in leading projects and activities; may provide process and subject matter advice at senior levels
- Works independently as the senior technical lead and guides others within area of expertise
- Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex issues at all levels
Education & Experience :
Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required7+ years relevant experienceProfessional designation in security management (e.g. ASIS Certified Protection Professional [CPP], CSIS Accredited Security Professional [ASP] or Certified Security Professional [CSP], preferred)Proficient knowledge of physical security and crime prevention methods, regulatory environment, banking industry, policies and procedures, products, services, systems and reportingKnowledge of risk management environment, standards and regulationsKnowledge of current and emerging trendsSkill in mentoring / coaching othersSkill in identifying complex problems, reviewing related information, developing and evaluating options and implementing effective solutionsSkill in using computer applications including MS OfficeAbility to communicate effectively in both oral and written formAbility to work collaboratively and build relationshipsAbility to work successfully as a member of a team and independentlyAbility to exercise sound judgement in making decisionsAbility to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlinesAbility to handle confidential information with discretionCustomer Accountabilities :
Executes on physical security plans, programs, proceduresProvides support with analysis, reporting, and recommendations for improvement, input to help develop metrics and reporting, and data for use in threat and risk assessments and physical security surveysEnhances and establishes awareness and commitment to TD's physical security programCreates and submits detailed reports and logs to supervisors (i.e., updates to databases)Identifies various types of fraud and escalation proceduresProvides input for office layout, security systems and hardware designs, security guard service, vendor selection, and facility security proceduresObserves and reports on the performance of all contractors for security services and facility security systemsRecommends and helps implement emergency response plans for employees and business groups considered high risk for physical security incidentsProvides security support to HR for employee terminations, harassments or other risky situations in the workplaceManages external relationships with partners in government, security, law enforcement, emergency service officials, and other industry peersShareholder Accountabilities :

Ability to conduct comprehensive physical security risk assessments across company sites and facilitiesExperience assisting in security audits, and conduct in person trainingFamiliar with risk management platformsFamiliarity with the ONTIC Security Intelligence platformEvaluate security systems such as surveillance (CCTV), access control, intrusion detection, lighting, and perimeter protectionProvide security design input for new facility construction, renovations, or relocationsExperience in sectors such as critical infrastructure, healthcare, finance, law enforcement / governmentFamiliarity with physical security standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO 31000, NIST, DHS Risk Management Process)
