Job description

We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for a 65-day locum tenens assignment in California starting Dec 1, 2025. This role features 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, and involves a mix of emergency and urgent care (Rapid Care) settings with same-day and next-day appointments as well as walk-ins.

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide care for patients presenting to a Rapid Care clinic with a mix of emergency room and urgent care needs

Manage same-day and next-day appointments and accommodate walk-in patients

Assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of acute conditions consistent with ER and urgent care practice

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient care

Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and patient management

Maintain compliance with clinical protocols and standards

Additional Information

Must have an active California license

Recent experience in both emergency room and urgent care settings required

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
