Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic / Technician

Job Summary

The Field Mechanic is responsible for working on an active construction job site to diagnose and repair heavy equipment. This position requires a person who can work independently, is self-motivated under limited supervision, and manages limited downtime of the equipment.

Essential Functions

• A strong mechanical aptitude, the willingness to learn, a good work ethic, and a positive attitude.
• Diagnoses and repairs large heavy equipment on the job site and company vehicles.
• Performs preventative maintenance and large variety of repairs of heavy equipment.
• Reads and interprets vehicle condition reports and repair orders.
• Completes paperwork associated with repairs and inspections.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Position Type and Hours

This is a full-time position, 50-60 hours per week. Days and hours of work vary according to job. Occasional evening, weekend and overtime work may be required as job duties demand.
