Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of recent diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab experience, ACLS, BLS, ARRT, and RCIS certification.
Responsibilities
Work in an acute care hospital that is a Level I trauma center and Magnet facilityAssignment is in the Cardiac Cath Lab performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac proceduresPatient population is primarily middle and older adultsCaseload includes cardiac stent placement, implant closure devices, left / right heart catheterization, IABP, PCI, PTCA, Rotablader athrectomy, and scrub proceduresShift is 3x12 hour days, 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM2–3 weekend shifts required per contractOn-call is required as neededNo floating outside designated departmentCerner EMR experience is requiredResponsibilities include setup and operation of equipment, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and use of isolation precautionsScrubs are provided by the hospitalMust be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment falls on those datesOrientation includes completion of virtual modules and badge photo within the first weekNo prior employment in permanent or PRN roles at the hospital within the past 12 monthsParking is provided at no cost with permit process during orientationFirst-time travelers will be considered for this assignmentRequirements
Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath labActive Illinois state license required if applicableCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, ARRT, and RCIS (AHA or Red Cross only)Proficiency in procedural responsibilities including cardiac implant closure devices, stent placements, cardiac catheterizations, IABP, PCI, PTCA, and scrub proceduresAbility to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and apply sterile technique and infection control proceduresExperience with Cerner charting system requiredSSN and DOB required for considerationBenefits
