Community Development Director
The City of Marysville is seeking a Community Development Director to join this dynamic public organization. The Director will have the responsibility of overseeing the vision, direction and leadership of the Community Development department to ensure optimum service delivery to the community. The position works under the direction of the City Administrator and has administrative oversight of all assigned department and division activities to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and operational initiatives.
This position is responsible for the overall vision and direction of the Community Development Department. This includes strategic and administrative oversight of activities and programs including planning, land development, construction inspection, electrical inspection, permitting, civil development review, commute trip reduction (CTR), and community development block grant (CDBG). Serves as the City's SEPA Responsible Official, and Shoreline Administrator. Responsibilities include development and oversight of departmental goals and objectives, policies and procedures; budget development and oversight; and compliance with statutory requirements. This position plans, organizes, and evaluates the work of subordinates.
Considerable and frequent contact is maintained with the Executive Department, City Council, and other department directors as well as representatives of local, state, tribal governments and federal governments and agencies, and the general public.
