About this Role :

Under the administrative direction of the Information Technology Manager II (Chief of the Enterprise Strategy and Services Branch, IT Strategy Services Division), the Information Technology Specialist III serves as a Senior Enterprise Architect at the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).

The Senior Enterprise Architect :

• Leads the development and application of IT standards, reference architectures, and design patterns to guide enterprise decision-making.
• Provides enterprise architecture governance and assurance to ensure alignment with DHCS's strategic goals, objectives, and business outcomes.
• Chairs or advises IT governance committees and architecture review workgroups to resolve competing technical perspectives and support informed, unbiased decisions.
• Engages business and technology stakeholders to align initiatives with enterprise strategy, mitigate risk, and promote interoperability and sustainability.
• Serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, offering expert-level guidance on enterprise-wide technology planning, investment, and transformation.

Telework Information

Currently, the DHCS standard for hybrid work is a minimum of two days per week in-person and site-based and up to three teleworking days per week in accordance with DHCS' Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 - 14203. This position may be eligible for telework up to five days a week, contingent on operational business needs. Telework is available to California residents, and proof of residency may be required. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change.

The selected candidate will be assigned an available DHCS office closest to their residence prior to their start date. The selected candidate will be required to report to their assigned DHCS office and other DHCS locations as needed.

Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated office and residence subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
