General Description / Primary Purpose

This is skilled trades work in plumbing, electrical, and air conditioning equipment installation, maintenance, and repair.

Job Functions

• Perform routine inspections.
• Electrical work.
• Refrigeration and air conditioning work.
• Preventive maintenance work.
• Equipment operation and maintenance.
• Follows safety guidelines and procedures.
• Minor project work.
• This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed.
• Supervises lesser-skilled workers in the absence of an immediate supervisor
• Discusses projects with the immediate supervisor to exchange ideas on methods to be used and to eliminate misunderstandings before beginning the work
• Takes responsibility seriously and works to achieve the goals of management.

Required Licensure

Valid Florida Driver’s License

Machines / Equipment used regularly

hand tools & power tools, megameters & multimeters, pipe treading machine, ground fault detector, drain cleaning equipment, A.C. service equipment, bucket truck, trencher

Required Qualifications : Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades; or a high school diploma and three years of experience directly related to the job functions. Directly related college coursework or vocational / technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
