Employee Benefits Eligibility Specialist

Reports To : Technology Team Lead
Hours : Full Time
Location : Salt Lake City Office
Compensation : $20 to $22 / hr.
Position Summary
This is an entry-level position working to give support and assistance to the Employee Benefits Department by handling interim eligibility. Interim Eligibility is the process of entering enrollments / changes received from our benefit platforms (Employee Navigator, PlanSource, etc.) into the carrier's systems. This position is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to accounts in a supporting Service Team role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and process changes for benefits that are not on Integration / EDI
- Work with Account Managers when necessary in order to update carrier's enrollment portal / process.
- Maintain email notifications from carriers and ensure correspondence is received by the correct recipient on our end.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
High School diploma or equivalent requiredPrior customer service and knowledge of or experience in the insurance industry preferredRequired Job Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of and familiarity with current Health, Life, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability (LTD), Short Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Care productsKnowledge or previous experience in benefit platform software such as Ease, Employee Navigator, PlanSource, etc.Knowledge of and familiarity with PPACA current and proposed regulationsAbility to maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of citizens and agency staffProficient in a variety of computer software applications used by the agency, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; EPIC; as well as the Internet and Carrier Web SitesAbility to establish and develop strong relationships with clients, carriers, trusted business partners and coworkersSets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.Stay up to date on industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.Interact with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the company.Expected to further industry education through insurance courses and inform group department of knowledge gained.Strong ability to problem solves, set, and meet deadlines, communicate, work under pressure, organize, prioritize, manage multiple tasks and operate in a fast-paced environment.Good at attention to detail and ability to self-check work.Physical
