Job descriptionBachelor's degree in Music Therapy Certification or eligibility to sit for certification exam within 18 months of hire (preferred) 1 year of work experience in a medical setting and / or working with children Ability to adhere to AMTA standards of practice, code of ethics, and professional competencies Proficient knowledge in music therapy clinical practice, musical skills, child development, and the impact of healthcare on neurodevelopmental outcomes
Inpatient Surgical
The Music Therapist will :
- Provide music therapy to support the developmental, rehabilitative, psychological, socioemotional, and psychoeducational needs of BCH patients and families from various demographic and multicultural backgrounds.
- Work in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to assess, evaluate, and document the therapeutic needs of patients, addressing medical, procedural, surgical, diagnostic, and prognostic experiences of patients and families.
- Provide basic guidance and instruction on student / intern performance and interactions with patients and families.
