Location : Yazoo City (SPED) Salary : $7.98 to $11.26 per hour Work Days : 183 Days - 9 Month Employee Report To : Director of Transportation FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Position Overview : Perform responsible support work assisting with the transportation of pupils with transportation needs to and from school, providing help to the school bus driver; securing passengers in their seats; assisting students boarding and leaving the school bus.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist students on and off buses.
• Ensure that all student passengers, including those in wheelchairs and braces, are properly secured in their assigned seats or wheelchair slot.
• Assist in controlling student behavior.
• Tend to the special needs and conditions of each student.
• Learn bus routes, schedules, and pickup points.
• Assist substitute drivers with directions.
• Keep abreast of route and bus stop changes and student daycare arrangements.
• Assist drivers in conducting bus evacuation drills.
• Assist drivers in maintaining a clean bus interior.
• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Supports the Yazoo City Municipal School District Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

High school diploma or other comparable training or experience. Other requirements as deemed necessary for specific district need(s). Be able to obtain and maintain CDL Driver's License.
