To operate the bus safely on the designated route.
To follow all program rules for conduct while operating the bus.
To provide a positive, supportive environment for the children riding the bus.
To communicate reliably with program staff and the children's parents.
To be able to handle any emergency calmly and effectively.
To maintain accurate records about the daily transportation of children and the daily operation of the bus.
To maintain accurate record on vehicle maintenance and inspection.
To perform daily walk-around vehicle checks as required by law.
To participate in all necessary training and planned meetings.
Upon authorization purchase gasoline and oil for Agency vehicle from a designated service station.
Take bus to be washed at a designated establishment on weekly basis.
To assist with the loading and unloading of children at Center location.
Promote Early Learning Connections in the community by commonly sharing the responsibility of active recruitment of children.
Support the program-wide adoption of the teaching pyramid model to promote the development of young children's social-emotional competence and address challenging behavior.
Create and maintain a positive organizational culture by demonstrating the program-wide behavioral expectations in their social interactions with children, families, community members and colleagues.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Ability to interact with low-income parents and children.
Possess a commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B
Pass School Bus Driver's Physical Examination Form (DL-704).
