Job description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Medical Assistant PRN, where you will play a vital role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring a smooth, efficient, and compassionate patient care experience.

Job Summary

As an integral member of the clinic team, you will perform patient care duties within the scope of your license, assist with treatments and procedures, and help maintain a positive and organized clinical environment. Your role will include facilitating patient flow, administering immunizations under supervision, documenting patient information accurately, and coordinating referrals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care tasks and carry out provider orders promptly and accurately.
  • Assist with treatments and procedures, ensuring all necessary consents are obtained.
  • Notify patients of test results as directed by providers.
  • Document patient complaints, vital signs, and prepare patients for exams.
  • Administer immunizations within scope and maintain proper documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage electronic health records daily.
  • Coordinate referrals and ensure timely processing of consults and diagnostics.
  • Stock exam rooms, manage sample medications, and maintain cleanliness and infection control standards.
  • Engage in teamwork, support new team members, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an approved certified medical assistant program.
  • Licenses and Certifications

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification and Licensure as required by the state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of medical assistant duties and patient care techniques.
  • Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform independent judgment tasks.
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Physical Requirements

    Ability to perform duties involving frequent movement, patient interaction, and maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.

    Work Environment

    This position offers part-time hours with 10-hour shifts in a 40-hour workweek, providing flexibility and a supportive atmosphere for professional growth.
