Program Description :

Centuria Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the National Weather Service (NWS) Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) Radar Operations Center (ROC) Hardware Engineering team in Norman, OK. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing sustaining engineering to the NEXRAD program, focusing on day-to-day operational radar issues, interference analysis, and long-term projects.

You will work on Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) projects, sustaining engineering tasks, and routine obsolescence efforts to ensure the radar's operational longevity well into the 2030s. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical, writing, and presentation skills, along with a strong background in radar hardware, Radio Frequency (RF) systems, and electrical power systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for radar hardware systems including transmitters, signal processors, and antenna / pedestal subsystems.
• Conduct RF interference analysis and mitigation in coordination with federal agencies (NTIA, FCC, DOD, FAA).
• Support Service Life Extension Programs (SLEP) and routine obsolescence efforts to extend radar system viability.
• Perform site-specific assessments of physical and RF interference sources (e.g., towers, buildings, mining operations).
• Collaborate with field offices and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve radar performance issues.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and test plans.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and lifecycle planning activities.
• Use lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.) for hardware testing and validation.
• Travel to field sites as needed to conduct kit proofs, perform troubleshooting, and provide technical support to field personnel.
