Title : Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location : Columbus, OH

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) – Weekends required

Job Responsibilities :

  • Provide respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients in a large academic medical center setting.
  • Manage ventilator support, including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation.
  • Administer respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and emergency medications such as racemic epinephrine and nitric oxide.
  • Perform airway management procedures such as extubation, oral / nasal suctioning, and tracheostomy care.
  • Utilize high flow nasal cannula, trach collars, and nebulizer therapies.
  • Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and adjust treatment accordingly.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across Med / Surg, PCU, and Emergency Department units.
  • Use aerosol delivery systems including MDI, T-piece, and aerosol masks / trach setups.
  • Float to other locations within the system may be required based on staffing needs.
  • Required Skills & Experience :

  • Active Ohio Respiratory Care Professional license
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute care setting
  • Experience with adult critical care and emergency department patients – preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot high-pressure alarms and perform ventilator weaning
  • Previous travel experience – preferred
