Summary :
The role bears primary responsibility for the full lifecycle of automation initiatives, from identification and design to implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Collaborating with various departments to identify and prioritize processes ripe for automation.
Designing, developing, and implementing robust and scalable automation solutions using selected tools and programming languages.
Leading the deployment of automation solutions into production environments.
Monitoring the performance of automated processes and identifying areas for improvement.
Providing training and support to end-users and other team members on automation tools and processes.
Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of automation initiatives.
Qualification Requirements :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and / or Experience :
Minimum of ten years of experience in an industrial maintenance capacity. Minimum of five years' experience in industrial automation, is competent in those systems, processes, and compliance requirements. Food production training experience preferred.
Communication Skills :
In addition to automation technologies and platforms, must be PC literate with knowledge of Word, Excel, and CMMS programs. Good planning and priority-setting skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills (conflict resolution, facilitation, change management skills, decision-making, empowerment, and delegation). Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
Reasoning Ability :
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities :
Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available.
Physical Demands :
Ability to perform your responsibilities in situations that are physically demanding, tight fitting, wide temperature ranging, and noisy. Will spend approximately 70% / 30% floor time to office time. Must be able to lift / carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to use ladders, scissor and aerial lifts, and climb stairs.
Work Environment :
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but sometimes very loud. Space temperatures may range from below freezing to triple digits.
Work Schedule :
The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work as scheduled.
