General Summary :
The Staff Psychiatrist will perform psychiatric evaluations, daily patient rounding, and treatment and discharge planning.
Provides psychiatric services to adults and children with serious and persistent mental illnesses.
Evaluates patients by interviewing patient, family, and other persons; conducting physical examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history and related documents; selecting, administering, and interpreting psychological tests; ordering laboratory tests and evaluating results.
Knowledge of methods and procedures in the field of general medicine; and of principles of the development, implementation, and documentation of individualized care and treatment plans.
Regular discussions with patients about their problems; help them find solutions through changes in their behavioral patterns, the exploration of their past experiences, or group and family therapy sessions.
Total communication (verbal and written) and consultation with clients, center staff, and other agencies as requested.
A successful candidate will have a background of working in a matrixed, team-based environment, experience with adult (and pediatric) populations, and passion for helping persons with mental illness achieve optimal physical, mental, and social health and wellness outcomes.
Qualifications :
Board Certified (BC) or Board Eligible (BE) Psychiatrist
