This position is an integral part of our finance department, responsible for all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting. The successful candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, specifically in the engineering or related industry, with a focus on Aerospace and Aviation. Job Details

Responsibilities :

As the Permanent Director of Tax, you will :

1. Lead and manage the company's tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions.

2. Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

3. Oversee the preparation and review of all tax returns and related reports.

4. Provide expert guidance on tax implications of business decisions, including mergers and acquisitions, new product development, and other strategic initiatives.

5. Work closely with external auditors and tax consultants to manage audits and examinations.

6. Monitor and analyze proposed and enacted tax legislation to determine financial impact on the company.

7. Collaborate with other departments to provide tax advice and support on business matters.

8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations, industry trends, and best practices.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for the Director of Tax position will have :

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An active CPA is REQUIRED!

2. A minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience, preferably in the engineering industry with a focus on Aerospace and Aviation.

3. Proven experience with FIN 48 and tax accounting.

4. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes and regulations.

5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.

8. Proficiency with tax software and other relevant technology.
