Structural Engineer II – Hybrid | Irvine, CA
We are seeking a Structural Engineer II to join a dynamic engineering team in Irvine, CA. What You’ll Do
- Perform structural analysis and design for new and existing structures, including multi-story buildings, pipe racks, and industrial supports.
- Apply statics, dynamics, and load path principles in engineering calculations.
- Prepare technical deliverables : reports, calculation packages, and design documentation.
- Create detailed 3D structural models using ETABS (preferred), SAP2000, or RISA.
- Review plans for compliance with IBC, CBC, ASCE 7, and material standards (AISC, ACI, NDS, TMS).
- Collaborate with senior engineers and participate in client meetings.
- Track and report project hours accurately; assist with workload estimates and budgets.
- Support occasional field surveys (typically paired with senior staff).
What You’ll Need
Education : Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).Experience : 2–4 years of structural engineering experience (or 1–2 years with Master’s).Certification : Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required.Technical Skills : Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, and RISA; familiarity with RAM and MathCAD.Knowledge of structural codes and standards (IBC, CBC, ASCE 7; AISC, ACI, NDS, TMS).Ability to prepare calculation packages (MathCAD or Excel-based tools).Nice-to-Have : Revit or AutoCAD proficiency; seismic retrofit experience (NPC-5 exposure is a plus, not required).Work Environment
Location : Irvine, CASchedule : Hybrid – typically 2 days onsite per week (flexible days).Hours : Standard business hours (8 am–5 pm).Compensation & Benefits
