Job Description

Oppenheimer's Private Client group is a full service financial services firm with an emphasis on providing premier financial advice and guidance to the local marketplace.

The primary responsibility of the Sales Assistant is to support Financial Advisors in sales, marketing, and day-to-day operations of a growing wealth management practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize daily work, track progress of projects and deadlines, answer phones, take messages and schedule appointments
  • Maintain marketing materials and documents
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare expense reports
  • Master general concepts of various accounts in order to answer day-to-day questions from advisors
  • Develop knowledge of forms and account procedures in order to assist in opening new accounts
  • Demonstrate initiative and desire to increase knowledge of rules, regulations, and concepts
  • Learn to utilize research and technical support tools
  • Produce quality analytical reports using various tools and software programs
  • Promote firm products and services by enhancing relationships with advisors through timely and accurate responses to questions, and acting with integrity and respect in all situations

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience working as a sales assistant in a corporate environment with superb organizational skills; experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus
  • Fluent in English and Spanish preferred
  • Securities licenses preferred
  • Demonstrate strong accuracy and thoroughness in all facets of daily work
  • Able to interface and articulate well with all levels of employees and clients in a highly professional and friendly manner
  • Must be a team player with an energetic, positive, proactive disposition
  • Possess a high degree of proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Able to meet designated deadlines and work effectively in a pressurized environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks with little or no supervision
