Job Description
We are looking for a Grant Accountant to join our mission-driven team. Our organization is a leader in the nonprofit sector, recognized for its impactful work in social services and community development, with a strong track record of securing and managing multi-million-dollar grants over the past few years.
Responsibilities
- Oversee financial management for 90+ grants and contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and submit grant invoices, financial reports, and journal entries.
- Maintain adherence to government and foundation funding requirements (e.g., NYC / NY State agencies).
- Respond to inquiries from funders and internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Support funder desk audits and assist with special financial reporting projects.
- Manage budget tracking, expense reconciliation, and allocation processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business.2-3+ years of grant accounting experience, preferably with NYC / NY State funders (DFTA, DYCD, OTDA).Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF statements).Familiarity with PASSPort, HHS Accelerator, or Grants Gateway (a plus).Knowledge of OMB Uniform Guidance (preferred).Benefits
