Substation Engineer

Overview

Substation Engineer at EC Source Services, LLC (MasTec Power Delivery). This role leads the engineering and design of high voltage electrical substation projects, guiding a multidisciplinary team that includes drafters, designers, and engineers. The position involves managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring they meet quality, schedule, and budget objectives. As the primary point of contact, you will liaise with clients and vendors throughout the project lifecycle. This is a remote position but must have a PE License for the state of Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Project Oversight : Direct and manage projects to achieve high standards of quality, adherence to schedules, and budget goals. Ensure timely completion by overseeing and coordinating all project activities.
• Design Execution : Develop and update design documents, including one-line diagrams, electrical plans, and specifications. Use engineering software for tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, load flow, and short circuit analysis.
• Coordination and Communication : Collaborate with customers, project teams, and management to ensure smooth project execution. Prepare and manage project schedules and budgets, addressing any deviations promptly.
• Standards Compliance : Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI) and utilize the document management system effectively.
• Problem Solving : Identify potential project issues and provide solutions. Travel as required for project needs and perform additional duties as assigned.
• Travel : Undertake short-term travel as required by project assignments.
