Job description

A healthcare organization is seeking a Physician to provide Occupational Health coverage on a locum basis. This role offers a steady daytime schedule and the opportunity to support an outpatient Occupational Health clinic during a medical leave.

About the Opportunity :

Schedule : 4 days per week
Hours : 8 : 00am-2 : 00pm
On-Call : None
Setting : Outpatient Occupational Health
Patient Volume : 10-15 patients per day
Contract : Short-term assignment with the possibility to extend
Support : Independent role; no APP support required
Overtime : Daily OT after 12 hours; weekly OT after 168 hours
Procedures : EKGs, PFTs, wound care, and possible suturing

Responsibilities :

Performing Occupational Health evaluations and post-offer medical clearance exams

Managing workplace injuries and conducting fit-for-duty assessments

Completing EKGs, PFTs, and basic procedures, including wound care

Documenting patient encounters in accordance with clinic protocols

Providing timely and appropriate medical recommendations

Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and regulatory standards

Qualifications :

1+ year of relevant experience in Occupational Health, Primary Care, or Urgent Care

MD or DO degree

Active state medical license

Proficiency with EKGs and PFTs

Ability to manage minor procedures (wound care, possible suturing)

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

Excellent communication and patient-engagement skills

Desired Skills :

Experience in workplace injury management

Familiarity with occupational safety protocols

Strong documentation and EMR proficiency

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outpatient setting
