Job Title : Category Manager

Location : Lakewood, CO (hybrid or remote capabilites)

Hours / Schedule : Monday-Friday, 8 : 00AM-5 : 00PM

Compensation : $55.00-$70.00 / hour (based on experience)

Type : 6-month Contract, potential to extend

Overview

The Category Manager will lead strategic sourcing, supplier management, and category strategy development to support multiple business functions. This is an onsite position in Lakewood, CO, supporting a collaborative, high-performance team with global interfaces. The environment values initiative, communication, and strategic thinking.

This role requires a highly analytical, organized, and proactive professional capable of managing complex procurement projects in a continuous improvement environment. The position supports one of the most stable and impactful divisions of the business, overseeing critical blood donation and separation products that directly contribute to saving lives.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute long-term category strategies that align with organizational objectives

Manage sourcing, planning, and supplier relationships with a focus on cost optimization and compliance

Collaborate with internal departments (IT, HR, Marketing, Sales, Facilities, Supply Chain, Engineering) to identify sourcing efficiencies and process improvement opportunities

Conduct spend analysis to enhance supplier performance and reduce total cost of ownership

Ensure compliance with all legal and corporate requirements, including JSOX

Manage SAP Master Data and provide input to SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) activities

Prepare and execute RFx processes, evaluate supplier proposals, and make data-driven selection decisions

Develop and implement negotiation strategies in partnership with Business and Legal teams

Support supplier development initiatives through assessments, certifications, and continuous improvement activities

Maintain an in-depth understanding of category trends, market conditions, global supply chain dynamics, and cost drivers

Qualifications Minimum 8 years of experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or a related field

Proven ability to develop and implement category strategies across multiple functions

Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Proficiency in PC applications and procurement tools (Excel, SAP, etc.)

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment

Excellent problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset

Experience working cross-functionally to influence outcomes and drive results
