Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Newark, NJ for a Manager of Major Gifts. The Manager of Major Gifts will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. Day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing fundraising strategies, maintaining donor relationships, preparing grant proposals, and organizing fundraising events. The Manager of Major Gifts will work closely with the development team to achieve fundraising goals and support the mission of Newark Symphony Hall.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to meet annual goals.
  • Maintain and expand donor relationships through timely communication and stewardship.
  • Prepare grant proposals and other fundraising materials.
  • Organize fundraising events and donor recognition activities.
  • Collaborate with the development team to achieve fundraising targets and support the organization's mission.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in major gift fundraising and donor cultivation
  • Strong writing, research, and proposal preparation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with fundraising software and CRM platforms
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an on-site environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the arts and culture sector is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
