We're Hiring for a Test Engineer! The Product Test Engineer designs and implements tests to ensure R&D product development meets expected specifications and functionality. They develop manual or automated test plans, analyze test results, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.

We are looking for an individual that has strong engineering academic qualifications with a passion for environmental sciences or has environmental scientist academic qualifications with a passion for bringing new sensing and data logging technologies to market.

The Role

Works in tandem with Engineers, Chemists and Project Managers. Contributions directly impact the success of all product lines and systems. This role reports directly to the Director, R&D – YSI.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to identify testing requirements driven from the product specifications.
  • Develop and implement test plans and strategies.
  • Create and maintain test documentation.

Test Execution

  • Conduct functional, regression, and integration testing for design validation of prototypes or pre-pilot assemblies.
  • Identify and report defects.
  • Monitor and track testing progress.
  • Test execution is a mix between engineering laboratory testing onsite at YSI or local field deployments of prototype or pre-pilot build units.
  • Communication & Team Collaboration

  • Communicate testing updates and results to team members.
  • Work closely with Engineers, Chemists and Project Managers and Product Management to resolve issues.
  • Provide recommendations for improving product quality.
  • Foster a positive and productive team environment.
  • Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
  • Preferred : 5 years of experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced technical skills and the ability to work independently on projects.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Capable of using computer-based tools to facilitate responsibilities.
  • Poise, good judgment and confidence to represent the Company.
  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce and customer base.
  • Ensures compliance with Company's and regulatory policies and procedures.
