Job description

Sanitation Worker (Entry Level)

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our sanitation department, responsible for cleaning and maintaining machinery to meet high standards. This role requires the ability to disassemble and reassemble machinery parts, showcasing a strong mechanical aptitude. Experience with lockout / tagout procedures is highly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working at heights and using cleaning products with strong odors.

Responsibilities :

  • Sanitize and clean production areas, including inside, outside, underneath, and at heights, using chemicals and cleaning tools while wearing all appropriate PPEs.
  • Evaluate sanitation effectiveness through visual inspections and chemical concentration checks to ensure program compliance.
  • Complete pre-operational inspections of equipment and document findings accurately and timely.
  • Understand and follow the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Contribute to incident investigations related to safety, food safety, pest sightings, contaminations, and other non-conformances.
  • Prepare production equipment for cleaning by adhering to proper LOTO procedures.
  • Disassemble, clean, and sanitize all food-processing equipment, including storage areas, and handle all line clean-ups.
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations, monitor cleaning equipment inventory, and maintain plant cleanliness in compliance with GMP and Food Safety standards.
  • Coordinate supplies, equipment, and contractor support for plant sanitation and pest control.
  • Log and record daily chemical usage, train employees in sanitation procedures, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Foster a team atmosphere, work independently, and notify supervision of any issues.
  • Perform simple mathematical calculations and use Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) with valid certification.

Essential Skills :

  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with lockout / tagout procedures
  • Comfortable with heights and using chemicals
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment
  • Knowledge of GMPs and Food Safety standards
  • Pay and Benefits :

    The pay range for this position is $17.65 - $20.11 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
