How You’ll Spend Your Time
- Reviewing complex C‑corp., S‑corp. and partnership income tax returns
- Strategic planning for clients including advising on federal and state compliance issues
- Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
- Identifying tax planning opportunities
- Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
- Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader
- Seeking and developing new clients / business
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in AccountingCPA license, JD or Master of Science in Taxation is required8+ years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staffExcellent analytical and technical tax skillsExceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationshipsAbility to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast‑paced, interactive, results‑based team environmentStrong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s managementExcellent analytical, organizational, and project‑management skills, and strong attention to detailCompensation
Base compensation varies by location. For example, Maryland : $175,000–$200,000; Massachusetts : $150,000–$200,000; New Jersey : $130,000–$235,000; New York : $150,000–$225,000; Pennsylvania : $125,000–$200,000; Rhode Island : $175,000–$200,000. In addition to the base, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance.
