Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist I performs quality routine and specialized ultrasound procedures while developing knowledge of anatomy, pathology, and patient care techniques essential for successful imaging outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams under the direction of a radiologist.Develop the ability to recognize abnormal findings that may require immediate attention and promptly notify the interpreting radiologist.Learn to troubleshoot and report issues with ultrasound equipment.Communicate effectively with patients and families, explaining procedures in a clear and compassionate manner.Demonstrate understanding of emergency equipment and supplies.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Education
Associate’s degree (or equivalent) from a two-year college, technical school, or nursing diploma program.Required Work Experience
No prior experience required (training provided).Required Certifications
One of the following licenses or registries is required (or must be obtained within two years of hire) :RDMS, PS – American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
