Our Interventional Radiology department plays a vital role in delivering minimally invasive, life-saving procedures that improve outcomes and enhance quality of life for our patients.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our growing team. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of imaging quality, patient safety, and team performance within the IR suite.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership and serve as a technical expert for all interventional radiology procedures, ensuring compliance with UF Health protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care in a fast-paced procedural environment.
- Assist with complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including vascular interventions, embolization, biopsies, drain placements, and image-guided treatments.
- Perform advanced imaging and ensure proper radiation safety measures, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance protocols.
- Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training for IR technologists and staff.
- Manage scheduling, workflow, and inventory control to maintain efficient operations.
- Participate in performance improvement, equipment evaluations, and departmental meetings.
- Serve as a liaison between staff, radiologists, and leadership to promote communication and operational excellence.
Education :
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.Licensure / Certification :
Current ARRT (R) certification and Florida state license required.ARRT (VI) or (CV) certification strongly preferred.BLS and ACLS certifications required (or obtained within 90 days of hire).Experience :
Minimum 3 years of interventional radiology experience required.Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.Strong knowledge of interventional imaging systems, sterile technique, and radiation protection standards.Why Join UF Health Leesburg Hospital
