Emergency Room RN Job Details

Location : Kinston, North Carolina (28501)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : December 8, 2025

End Date : March 9, 2026

Shift : 3x12-Hour Nights (19 : 00 - 07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Unit : Emergency Department (ED)

Patient Ratios : 5-6 patients per nurse

Charting System : Epic EMR

Orientation : 24 hours

Weekend and Holiday Coverage : Required (Every Other Weekend / Every Other Holiday)

Travelers must live at least 50 miles from facility

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1680-$1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state

Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience

Proficiency with Epic charting system required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIH / Stroke Certification

First-time travel nurses welcome

Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Community hospital or clinical support experience preferred

ER RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to all ages in a fast-paced Emergency Department

Perform triage, assessment, and emergency interventions for acute and emergent conditions

Administer medications and treatments, including emergency medications and procedural sedation

Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, respiratory distress, and behavioral health needs

Document and coordinate patient care using Epic EMR

Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and social services

Float to units with similar or lower acuity as needed

Maintain certifications and participate in ongoing nursing education
