Working alongside the Director of Track and Field, coaching responsibilities include developing novice through advanced distance athletes. The selected coach will work in tandem with the other distance assistant to lead workouts on the track and campus trails as well as off-track conditioning. All coaches on staff also contribute to meet day operations. All coaches on staff also contribute to meet day operations.

During the winter indoor season, commitment is approximately 20 hours per week (Monday- Friday) starting December 3, 2026 through the end of February. There is no track and field programming from December 18 – January 4. Afternoon practices during season typically run from 3 : 15 – 5 p.m. as well as meets, typically on Wednesday afternoons as well as occasional Saturday meets during the winter season.

The strongest applicants will have the following qualifications :

• Ability to positively motivate, inspire and be role model to high-school aged students.
• At least 2 years’ experience coaching in track and field club, high school or college setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Track and field experience at high school, college or higher level.
• Be adaptable and enjoy working alongside the current coaching staff
• Ability and willingness to manage a Monday-Saturday practice / game schedule which includes travel to away opponents.
