Position Overview :
The Bar Manager is both a creative leader and an operational anchor within the Skylodge Restaurant, overseeing all beverage operations while supporting the broader Front of House team. This role combines hands-on management with program development — from designing cocktail menus and leading beverage education, to maintaining compliance and budget accountability.
You’ll champion a culture of Unreasonable Hospitality, ensuring that every drink, every interaction, and every service moment reflects Powder Mountain’s values of excellence, warmth, and connection.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Team Development
Manage, schedule, and mentor the bar team while supporting all Front of House staff.Partner with FOH Managers to elevate overall service standards across Skylodge.Lead by example in day-to-day dining floor management, supporting service flow and guest engagement.Develop and lead formal training programs on wine, spirits, and cocktail service for the entire FOH team.Participate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, and conducting regular Champion Check-Ins.Beverage Program & Service Excellence
Create and curate cocktail, wine, and beer menus that reflect the mountain’s character and seasonal offerings.Collaborate with the culinary team to develop thoughtful pairings for Chef’s Tables, private events, and special experiences.Uphold and model exceptional guest service — stepping in as needed to support floor operations and resolve escalated issues.Maintain a visible presence during service, ensuring consistency, polish, and genuine hospitality.Operations & Financial Stewardship
Manage pour costs, loss prevention, and beverage budget goals.Oversee all bar inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships.Ensure full compliance with health codes, sanitation standards, and DABS liquor regulations.Lead bar inspections and internal audits to maintain operational excellence.Assist in creating sustainable systems that support long-term bar and F&B success aligned with club goals.Requirements and / or Qualifications :
21+ years of ageUtah Food Handler’s Permit and Utah Sips & Tips Certification3–5 years of bar leadership or beverage & restaurant management experience (luxury, resort, or fine dining preferred)Deep knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and beverage pairingStrong leadership, coaching, and communication skillsProven record in cost control, compliance, and team trainingProfessional appearance, reliability, and a hands-on leadership styleReliable transportation (capable of mountain driving or public transit)Physical Requirements- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to :
Stand or walk for up to 8+ hoursLift up to 40 lbsFrequent bending, reaching, and use of manual dexterityWorking Environment :
