  • About the Role

    Perform calibration and maintenance of instrumentation, test measurement, and diagnostic equipment to support the testing requirements of the facility. Serve as a resource for troubleshooting equipment, calibration, and measurement. Instrumentation includes equipment, software, and hardware used in the control and automation of test setups, and the power, connection, and communication requirements of data acquisition.

    Core Responsibilities

  • Setup and Calibration – ensure all test equipment and associated software function properly, including building complex test circuitry.
  • Troubleshooting – perform necessary steps to fix faulty test equipment and troubleshoot wiring and computer problems.
  • Data Collection – capture and maintain data on test equipment, such as pressure transducers, strain gauges, and flow meters; prepare calibration and data reports.
  • Other – perform other duties as assigned.
  • Core Requirements

  • Work under general supervision and perform recurring work independently.
  • Some interaction with clients.
  • Understanding of routine and moderately complex electrical and mechanical operations; working knowledge of oscilloscopes, data collection instruments, circuit design, troubleshooting, safety practices, and wiring.
  • Comprehensive mechanical, MS Office, and data acquisition hardware skills; ability to use standard and complex instrumentation, temperature probes, thermocouples, pressure transducers, and accelerometers.
  • Minimum Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification, A.A. or A.S. degree preferred.
  • 2–6 years of experience.
  • Working Conditions

    Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises.

    Physical Requirements

    The employee must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear, taste or smell, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
