detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant

What You'll Do

Perform

monthly balance sheet reconciliations

for key accounts, including fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and accounts receivable / payable.

Prepare and post

journal entries

with proper documentation.

Analyze general ledger activity to maintain accurate financial reporting.

Identify and resolve discrepancies and variances.

Support

monthly, quarterly, and annual closes

with timely schedules and reports.

Prepare

audit-ready workpapers

and assist with annual audits.

Review reconciliations prepared by team members for accuracy.

Document accounting procedures and recommend process improvements.

Use

advanced Excel skills

for reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.

Conduct

variance analysis

on revenues and expenses to support budget monitoring.

Provide

ad hoc financial reports

and analytical support to leadership.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

3-5 years of progressive accounting experience , ideally in nonprofit or education settings.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a

deadline-driven environment .

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in

Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas)

and Google Workspace.

Experience with

Veracross or similar accounting systems

is a plus.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.

Commitment to confidentiality and discretion with sensitive financial data.
