Job Description

Ready to reverse-engineer aerospace solutions that keep aircraft flying safely? Join a dynamic 30-person aerospace manufacturing team where your engineering expertise directly impacts aviation safety and component reliability.

Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client - an established aerospace component manufacturer specializing in aftermarket solutions for commercial and military aircraft. Known for their hands-on culture, collaborative engineering team, and direct customer partnerships with major airlines.

As Design Engineer, you'll drive component optimization projects that transform failed aerospace parts into reliable, cost-effective solutions. Your work will directly support airlines like American Airlines when OEMs can't provide the answers they need.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead reverse engineering projects analyzing failed aerospace components to develop improved aftermarket solutions
  • Design and optimize components using SolidWorks to improve cost, weight, and robustness over original designs
  • Create technical documentation packages including manufacturing drawings, test plans, and FAA compliance reports
  • Collaborate directly with customers to understand performance requirements and develop value-added engineering solutions
  • Support manufacturing transition working hands-on with production teams to ensure design manufacturability
  • Conduct qualification testing developing test protocols to validate component performance parameters
  • Problem-solve across product lifecycle from initial failure analysis through in-service support

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years engineering experience in aerospace or automotive aftermarket industries
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and manufacturing drawings
  • Experience with reverse engineering principles and failure analysis
  • Strong technical writing skills for regulatory documentation
  • US Citizenship or Green Card (government facility requirement)
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Hands-on fabrication experience (personal projects, machining, welding)
  • Experience with small company environments requiring cross-functional collaboration
  • GD&T standards knowledge and measurement practices
  • Background improving existing designs rather than blank-slate development
  • What We Offer :

Competitive salary plus 10% performance bonus. Comprehensive benefits from Day 1, relocation assistance available, and direct mentorship from experienced aerospace engineers. Join a close-knit team of 30 where every engineer's innovative ideas are valued and implemented.

Small company impact :  Work across the entire design process from customer problem to certified solution. No corporate silos - just hands-on engineering that makes a real difference in aviation safety.

Confidential search - your application is fully private. Ready to solve complex aerospace challenges? Apply and Pave Talent will contact qualified candidates within 24 hours!
