Responsibilities Work in a hospital Observation Med / Surg unit Care for observation status patients with diverse medical needs Night shift schedule from 7 : 00PM to 7 : 30AM, three 12-hour shifts per week Use of Epic as the electronic medical record system Assignment is a 13-week contract Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement care plans, and ensure accurate documentation for observation patients Delegation and supervision of healthcare team technician tasks throughout the shift Engage in bedside shift reports, patient education, and coordination of care with the interdisciplinary team Uphold patient safety as the highest priority including adherence to all safety protocols Maintain positive unit culture and prompt responsiveness to patient needs Maximum of 7 days requested time off allowed during the 13-week contract Return to assignment is allowed only after a 6-month break following a cumulative 1-year of contract work at the facility No travel partners accepted for this role Requirements Current Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted) Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience; three years preferred Level 1 Trauma experience required Epic charting experience required Associate degree in nursing required (ASN); BSN preferred Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted) Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-611679.
