Job Summary
This role supervises and coordinates the daily operations of the Phlebotomy section. Ensures efficient workflow and adequate staffing to meet turnaround times. It involves troubleshooting issues beyond the scope of phlebotomists and maintaining policies that comply with accrediting agency standards. The position is responsible for hiring, training, evaluating staff, and providing ongoing feedback and corrective actions as needed. Additionally, it manages the operational budget, promotes safety awareness, and ensures proper reporting of injuries or accidents. The role also requires performing phlebotomy duties as needed and continually developing technical skills for service improvement.
Estimated pay range for this position is $26.13 - $33.97 / hour depending on experience.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification, renewal not required.
- Five years phlebotomy experience in a hospital setting including experience with pediatric, geriatric and oncology patients. Computer knowledge, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- PREFERRED: Two (2) years supervisory experience and bilingual.
- 5 Years minimum experience required
- Associates degree or Medical Laboratory Technical License.
