FT PARS Position in busy Business Office.
Position Purpose :
The purpose of the PARS Position –Primarily responsible for effective collection on patient accounts, accounts receivable follow up, and reimbursement analysis.
Essentials Skills and Experience
- Must have experience in a medical accounts receivable role such as :
o Accounts Receivable Representative
o Patient Collections
Must have Working knowledge of medical, accounts receivable, collections, rejects, denials, appeals, and research billing guidelines and policiesDemonstrated knowledge of CPT, HCPC, ICD-10 Modifiers, UB04 & 1500 formsKnowledge of Healthcare systemDemonstrate professional when working with insurance companies in obtaining payment in fullAbility and willingness to work with professional with all other associates within the Business OfficeWorking knowledge of various reimbursement methodologies including reimbursement reductions, fee schedulesBe able to prioritize and multi taskWork to achieve the Accounts Receivable to be under ninety (90) days from the date of dischargeResearch and Resolve reason for denialsThe qualifications listed above are intended to represent the minimum skills and experience levels associated with performing the duties and responsibilities contained in this job description. Position Responsibilities
Review delinquent accounts and initiate appropriate collection action including telephone calls and correspondence to patientsInterpret and resolve accounts receivable problems with patients and insurance companiesWork all unpaid insurance accounts to resolutionTo obtain an AR within 90 days of dischargeUpdate demographic and payer related information obtained from the patientMay correct errors including misapplied payments / adjustments and applying account creditsPrepare refund requests for management approvalResponsible for the generation and mailing of statementsWork payer rejects and denialsAll employees are responsible for promoting and participating in interdisciplinary communication and collaboration to enhance the delivery of quality across the health care system. Employees should maintain an environment which supports and engages patients and co-workers in a caring team based model to promote wellness and improve health outcomes.
